A list of Arabic consonantal roots: Concordance, grammar, dictionary

In the Arabic language, complex words emerge from a ‘root’ that is made up of three or more consonants (the non-vowel alphabets). Knowing common roots (consonant combinations) with meaning allows the attentive reader to be able to recognize words derived from that root, and their possible meanings, and the relationships of those words to one another.

Aids in a multilayered comprehension of Muslim Arabic texts–primarily the Qur’an.

The Book of Aphorisms of Ibne Ata Allah al-Iskandari
The Book of Wisdom (Kitab al-hikam) is a masterpiece of Islamic spiritual literature by the renowned Sufi saint and sage of the 13th century AD, Ahmed Ibne Ata Allah Al-Iskandari, third master of the Sufi tariqa Shadhiliyya. It consists of aphorisms short and long that lead one to the path of clear thought and conduct. With clearer thought and right conduct, the quality of one’s life improves by the grant of Allah.

The Hikam are studied piecemeal in regular study sessions in Karachi, under the guidance of our author-founder, Shaykh Abu Faydan Faridi.
